Dreadlock Facts

Here I have listed some helpful information about dreadlocks.
DREADLOCKS ARE A PROCESS THE LONGER YOU HAVE THEM, THE BETTER THE ARE.

  • When choosing dreadlocks have them done natuarally / no chemicals.
  • Be sure your hair is clean and dry no conditioner, before you get your new dreadlocks, dread maintenance or dread extensions. This gives you the best start and will allow your hair to have time to knot up after maintenance.
  • After having your new dreadlocks done, I recommend not wetting or washing your dreads for 2 weeks to allow them to settle in. Your follow up appointment needs to be done within 2 days after your first wash. This appointment can be arranged the day your new dreadlocks are done.
  • Palm rolling new dreads will help them stay round and keep their form.

Dread Hard Facts

  • I recommend only washing your dreads on a sunny day or drying thoroughly with hair dryer, as dreads that don't dry properly smell nasty.
  • If you choose to wax your dreadies , do not use an excessive amount ,as nobody wants waxlocks.
  • Regular maintenance up to 3 monthly intervals will help prevent breakage and keep your dreads looking great .
